Portrait of a Runner

Portrait of a Runner is a collaborative storytelling project of, in the words of Olympic Half-Marathon hopeful Kevin Castille, “ordinary people doing extraordinary things.”

Each Portrait subject chooses his or her most meaningful location and is photographed by Abby Laub of J.A. Laub Photography. During and after their photo shoot, Eric Patrick Marr of Lexington, Kentucky’s RunTheBluegrass Half-Marathon digs into the heart and soul of each unique runner to discover and unearth the emotion, passion and rationale that makes each one tick – and keep on ticking.

Not only on the streets they run on, but on life’s path.
